1924 Reunion in Toulouse

After making their debut at the Apolo and Price Theaters in Madrid, they parted ways with the company, headed to Paris, with the intention of exploring possibilities, and then to Toulouse, where Doña Berta was. Back in Argentina, they are chosen to be part of the protocol entertainment program for Prince Humberto of Savoy, who was visiting the country. Year in which successes are repeated.

The artists performed at the Apolo and Price theaters in Madrid, bringing to the stage pieces of a distinctly Creole style, until, giving an important turnaround, they disassociated themselves from the company. Instead of returning to Buenos Aires, Gardel and Razzano continued their trip to France. As the two points of passage by train that exist or have existed through the Pyrenees were only inaugurated in 1928 and 1929, and were never used for rapid passenger movements, the singers' first destination would have been Paris and from there, on the Express Midi, they would have gone to Toulouse, where Doña Berta was. The event will go down in history as the first meeting in France between her, her family and her Carlos. After staying a few days as guests of the Gardes family, the singers began their return to Argentina.

On February 13, the vocal duo arrived in Buenos Aires. They brought with them a project that they could not carry out later: a new trip to Madrid and the Casino de Paris in October.

On September 30, the newspaper La Nación announced: “Today, Tuesday, at 22:325 p.m., on Radio Grand Splendid, on the 6-meter wave, an audition by the national duo Gardel-Razzano, who will sing on the radio for the first time, developing an extensive program of his most applauded numbers”. That night they would sing for the first time on a radio. Other broadcastings also disputed the right to count the celebrated duo in their ranks. For this reason, this year also marked the beginning of another story for Creole singers: on August XNUMX, Prince Humberto of Saboya arrived on Argentine soil. The Executive Branch prepared a program for him that included a visit to Rosario, Tucumán, Córdoba and Mendoza. And among the protocol entertainment, the performance of the Gardel-Razzano duo stood out. It was the first time, but not the last, that the "Creole Thrush" sang for a president or one of his heirs.

This was the year of greatest hits for the duo. They included in their repertoire songs by Filiberto, Aieta-García Jiménez, Piana, Delfino-Vaccarezza, the famous fox-trot "Pero hay una melena", by José Bohr and the no less famous "Si supieras", which eight years earlier had been premiered in its instrumental version by Roberto Firpo. Records were his impregnable fortress, which is why his theatrical seasons dwindled. They only performed at the Smart theater with the Blanca Podestá company. The performances, which began on September 26, included the piece "María" by Jorge Isaacs. And in the second act, a great Colombian party was offered, in which other artists of hierarchy and fifteen guitarists intervened led by Ricardo and Barbieri, famous accompanists of the Gardel-Razzano duo, who kindly lent them for said show.
